Harwich Runners will be timing the event.
Colchester10k runners will be provided with a “Personal Time” calculated from when the runner crosses the start line to when the runner crosses the finish line – this is sometimes called chip to chip timing. An official “Race Time” will also be provided, calculated from when the race is started to when the runner crosses the finish line – also known as the gun time. Chip tags are worn on the shoe, so times are recorded when the foot wearing the tag crosses the line and not the chest.
As set down by the rules of athletics, the results and prizes will be provided in Race Time order.
